BPSO Long-Term Care Program
It started with seven homes in Ontario—and now over 1,500 organizations around the world are designated Best Practices Spotlight Organization®. The program is an exciting journey towards embedding best practice guidelines into day-to-day care at your facility. But don’t worry – RNAO is here to help you every step of the way.
Launched in 2003 as a key knowledge translation strategy, the Best Practice Spotlight Organization® (BPSO®) program enhances clinical outcomes at the individual, organizational and health system levels. Through a formal partnership with RNAO, a long-term care (LTC) home agrees to implement, evaluate and sustain selected BPGs over a three period to achieve BPSO designation. The LTC home is supported throughout the pre-designation period by an RNAO implementation coach, who will provide consultation and coaching related to meeting the required pre-designate deliverables.
