Queenʼs Park on the Road (QPOR) is one of RNAOʼs signature political advocacy events.
It allows RNAO members to meet their MPPs within their local constituency to discuss key nursing, health, and health-care issues that matter to them and that affect their day-to-day practice. Through these meetings, nurses bring their experience and expertise to the table to influence healthy public policy changes that benefit Ontarians.
This year, members will be pushing hard for change on two issues: the RN understaffing crisis and the opioid overdose crisis. This continued focus on a limited number of issues allows a deeper, more focused and informed discussion between RNAOʼs passionate and knowledgeable nurse advocates and their elected MPPs.
RNAO has developed a toolkit to help members learn how to connect with their MPP and to help plan a QPOR MPP meeting.
