Appendix F: Message from the Leading Change Toolkit's Expert Panel Co-Chairs

As the co-chairs of the Leading Change Toolkit, we are proud to present a revolutionary resource that will power change agents and transform the world of implementation science.
For the first time, we offer combined approaches and tools from two complementary frameworks for uptake and sustainability of evidence: the Social Movement Action (SMA) Framework (Grinspun et al., 2022; Grinspun et al., 2020) and the Knowledge to Action (KTA) Framework (Graham et. al., 2006). Together, these seemingly different approaches will help you accelerate transformative change.
The SMA Framework reflects RNAO’s experience using people-led, bottom-up approaches to change. Now, these social movement actions have been formalized through a robust concept analysis on knowledge uptake and sustainability. The SMA Framework is used together with the KTA Framework, a widely applied, knowledge translation framework that provides a structured approach to change.
Heartfelt gratitude to Katherine Wallace, Leading Change Toolkit™ Project Lead, and Shelly-Anne Li, Guideline Development Methodologist for their intense, rigorous and enthusiastic work as the Toolkit Developers; Susan McNeill, Associate Director of Guideline Implementation and Knowledge Transfer and Oliwia Klej, Project Coordinator for always keeping us on track and managing all logistics; as well as the other many RNAO staff members who contributed to this resource’s production.
A never ending thanks to the expert panel for generously sharing their time and expertise despite the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. We also wish to thank the multiple stakeholders (end-users of the toolkit) for their guidance and feedback throughout various stages of the development process. We are grateful to our co-sponsor, Healthcare Excellence Canada and the Government of Ontario for their unwavering commitment to funding resources to support evidence-based practice.
We know that creating sustainable change is complex. That is why we are thrilled to share this powerful resource, free of charge, to health providers around the world to help you improve outcomes and accelerate long-lasting transformative change.
