The Best Practice Champions Experience at Nipigon Hospital

This presentation will provide an overview of Nipigon Hospital's best practice champions including how champions are recruited, as well as their work with best practice guideline (BPG) implementation and evaluation.

• understand the role of Best Practice Champions in 1) BPG implementation, and 2) monitoring and managing patient outcomes through evidence-based practice implementation within the organization
• discuss the importance of organizational reporting structures and best practice committee structures
• identify the challenges and barriers encountered with recruiting and sustaining champions and how the BPG team overcame them
• navigate through the organizational challenges affecting the work of BPG champions and discuss strategies to overcome these barriers
