Location
Toronto
Date
Dec. 2, 2024

Nurses across Ontario touch the lives of countless individuals daily. Despite the challenges facing our health-care system, they remain committed to delivering exceptional care.

The Nursing Now Ontario Awards (NNOA) honour nursing excellence by recognizing a nurse practitioner (NP), a registered nurse (RN) and a registered practical nurse who exemplify the highest standards of professionalism, clinical expertise and compassionate care.

Jointly presented by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) and the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario (WeRPN), these awards highlight the incredible contributions of nurses to the health and wellbeing of people and our communities. The awards were inspired by Nursing Now, a global campaign launched by the World Health Organization and the International Council of Nurses to improve health through nursing.

“Nurses are the backbone of Ontario’s health-care system, embodying resilience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to quality care,” says Dianne Martin, CEO of WeRPN. “These awards allow us to shine a spotlight on their incredible achievements and the critical role they play in strengthening our health system.”

“Nurses provide day-in and day-out exemplary care. They do so with expert clinical knowledge, compassion and an unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of all Ontarians,” says RNAO CEO Dr. Doris Grinspun, adding that “These awards provide the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the individual accomplishments of nurses across the province who have gone above and beyond to provide this exemplary care. We are proud to partner with WeRPN once again for the NNOA and look forward to receiving inspiring nominations of deserving nurses.”

Celebrate the exceptional nurses in your community by submitting a nomination online today. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025. Submissions will be reviewed by a volunteer panel of nurses.

Recipients will be celebrated during National Nursing Week on Friday, May 16, 2025.
