Advocate to the Ministry of Education, Non-waged subsidies in clinical placements for undergraduate nursing students

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) advocate to the Government of Ontario for the development and implementation of provincially funded and non-wage subsidy clinical practicum models for undergraduate nursing students; and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that RNAO collaborate with baccalaureate nursing programs and clinical placement partners to provide standardized frameworks for long-term subsidy mechanisms with evaluation metrics to quantify the improvement of safe and equitable clinical practicum reported by undergraduate nursing students, with an emphasis on those from marginalized or underserved populations.
