The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario's (RNAO) Best Practice Guideline Program invites you to be an external reviewer for one of our future best practice guidelines (BPG).
What is an external reviewer?
External reviewers provide us with feedback on draft BPGs, and are essential players in our guideline development process. They can be nurses, other health professionals, persons with lived experience and their family/support members, knowledgeable administrators or funders of health-care services.
What will I get out of this?
As an external reviewer, you can:
- contribute insight, knowledge, expertise and/or lived experience perspectives
- help us make sure that we are drawing on multiple perspectives to inform high-quality guideline development
What is involved?
RNAO asks external reviewers to commit several hours of their time to:
- review the guideline
- provide feedback and suggestions through an online questionnaire
We will provide you with a period of two to three weeks for guideline review and feedback.
If interested, please complete a short external review form. Currently we are only recruiting for the following BPGs:
- Delirium and Dementia
- Intimate Partner Violence
- Self-management in Chronic Conditions
- Preventing Falls and Reducing Injury from Falls
- Preventing and Addressing Abuse and Neglect of Older Adults
- Promoting Life and Prevention of Indigenous Youth Suicide
- Promoting Safety: Alternative Approaches to the Use of Restraints
- Enhancing Healthy Adolescent Development
- Palliative and End-of-life Care
- Leadership and Management
