Helen Tran
Freelance journalist, The Voice of Pelham

Helen Tran is a part-time professor of communications at Niagara College and a freelance journalist. She is also a poet and novelist who has had poetry, flash fiction and short fiction published in literary magazines and anthologies throughout Canada. Her work has appeared in The Antigonish Review, Augur Magazine, Carousel Magazine, and Ricepaper Magazine’s Currents anthology, among others. For her creative writing MFA thesis project at the University of British Columbia, she wrote a steampunk novel under the guidance of award-winning authors Joseph Boyden and Annabel Lyon. She enjoys photography as her main hobby and has photographed weddings, events, and wildlife throughout Ontario. Helen lives in the Niagara Region with her two children and one spoiled housecat.
