Celebrating 20 years in BPSO

Niagara Health celebrated its 20th anniversary as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) in 2023. As one of the first organizations to achieve this designation, it was important to celebrate and highlight the extraordinary work being completed across the organization. Niagara Health is a unique organization, made up of 5 hospital sites across the Region of Niagara. Ensuring each site had equal opportunity to participate in the celebratory event, it was decided a four-day roadshow would run from Jan. 22-25, 2024. Members of the BPSO committee, champions network leads, champions themselves as well as Niagara Health's leadership team members attended, spending two hours each day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET, at each site. The event sought to spread knowledge of recently formed champions networks, RNAO and Niagara Health’s BPSO committee. More than 500 people participated in the roadshow including interprofessional team members, nurses, nursing students, families and patients. During the event, RNAO added new members to our BPSO committee, promoted RNAO memberships as well as encouraged interest in the Advanced Clinical Practice Fellowship (ACPF) program.
