Baby-Steps: Implementing Baby-Friendly Initiative Best Practices

December 9, 2015

The Baby-Friendly Initiative (BFI) is a World Health Organization and UNICEF evidence-based model of care that has been proven to increase breastfeeding rates and improve population health outcomes. Despite this, in Ontario there are only four hospitals and only two community health centres have been successfully Baby-Friendly designated.

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has funded the BFI Strategy for Ontario to support hospitals and community health services in adopting Baby-Friendly best practices. In this webinar, the lead and project manager of the BFI strategy will provide an introduction to the BFI and an overview of tools available to support Baby-Friendly implementation.
