RNAO CEO, president, immediate past-president and several board members meet with provincial government
On Sept. 28, RNAO CEO Dr. Doris Grinspun, President Dr. Claudette Holloway, Immediate Past-President Morgan Hoffarth and several board members met with members of the provincial government at Queen’s Park in Toronto, including Premier Doug Ford, Health Minister Sylvia Jones and Chief Nursing Officer and Assistant Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Karima Velji.
During the meeting, they discussed ways RNAO and the government can work together to support nurses and fix the province’s health system. In a statement, the government shared that “RNAO and its leadership continue to play a central role in making sure that nurses are at the forefront of these conversations.”
RNAO’s Nursing Through Crisis: A Comparative Perspective report outlines evidence-based solutions for the government to adopt to address the nursing crisis and build RN careers, including repealing Bill 124, increasing the supply of RNs and more.
With its members, RNAO will continue to advocate for the nursing profession and healthy public policy.
