There’s still time to join RNAO’s 2022 QPOR event: Join now
RNAO's 2022 Queen's Park on the Road (QPOR) kicked off on Nov. 7. Policy and political action executives (PPAN) across Ontario are meeting with local MPPs and ministers to discuss the key nursing, health and health-care issues that matter to nurses. The two priority issues this year are the RN and NP understaffing crisis, and the opioid overdose crisis. For more details, visit the QPOR web page.
The first QPOR visit was a roundtable discussion with Hon. Michael Tibollo, associate minister of mental health and addictions, to discuss the opioid crisis, and the RN and NP psychotherapy. RNAO’s Middlesex Elgin Chapter also hosted a QPOR event, titled Empowerment through Politics, where nurses shared their lived experiences of the RN understaffing crisis with MPPs Peggy Sattler, Terence Kernaghan and Teresa Armstrong.
If you would like to participate in a QPOR event and meet with local MPPs, please reach out to health policy coordinator Ann-Marie Morris at amorris@RNAO.ca.
