RNAO at the 2024 Toronto Pride Parade

Pride 2024

Every June, RNAO proudly participates in Pride Month to support diversity, inclusivity and access to care for individuals who identify as 2SLGBTQI+ (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and other sexual and gender minorities).

RNAO stands against discrimination and social exclusion based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and urges its members to speak out for human rights and health equity.

Together with its members, RNAO and the Rainbow Nursing Interest Group (RNIG) marched in the 2024 Toronto Pride Parade on Sunday, June 30. RNAO calls for person-centred, inclusive and appropriate care and safe and supportive work environments for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions.

To learn more about RNAO’s work and advocacy to support 2SLGBTQI+ communities, explore the 2SLGBTQI+ and RNAO In Focus. It features RNAO’s position statement on respecting sexually and gender-diverse communities, the Promoting 2SLGBTQI+ Health Equity best practice guideline, information on how nurses are mobilizing change and community resources.
