Pride Month 2024: Join RNAO at Toronto’s Pride Parade on June 30
Happy Pride Month!
RNAO recognizes and celebrates members of the 2SLGBTQI+ (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and other sexual and gender minorities) community every day and especially during Pride Month (June).
We invite you all to join RNAO and RNIG at Toronto’s Pride Parade on Sunday, June 30. For full details and registration, visit the event page. Remember to wear your RN, NP or NS pin as well to show you’re part of RNAO’s strong collective.
There are many other Pride events happening across Ontario this summer. Visit destinationontario.com to learn about events near you and encourage members of your RNAO chapter or region without chapters to participate with you.
Visit RNAO’s 2SLGBTQI+ In Focus web page for a comprehensive overview of the association’s work and advocacy to support 2SLGBTQI+ communities alongside RNIG. It features RNAO’s position statement on respecting sexually and gender-diverse communities, relevant policy work and community resources, as well as the Promoting 2SLGBTGQI+ Health Equity best practice guideline. It outlines how nurses and other health professionals can foster safe, inclusive and barrier-free environments to improve health access and optimize health outcomes for individuals who identify as 2SLGBTQI+.
Nurses are encouraged to join RNAO’s RNIG to advocate for nursing practice and environments that support people of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions. Visit the join form to add RNIG to your membership.
