Now accepting applications: Nursing Leadership and Management for Nurses program
Back by popular demand: RNAO's Leadership and Management for Nurses program resumes March 22, 2023. Applications are open for Ontario RNs, NPs and RPNs now until 4 p.m. ET on Feb. 17, 2023. The program was first mentioned in RNAO’s Nursing Through Crisis: A Comparative Analysis report to better support Ontario’s nurses.
The second cohort of the program will specifically target new and aspiring nurse leaders and managers in home and community care, including public health and primary care, as well as long-term care and hospital settings.
Participants are given the opportunity to interact and network with peers and experts. They’ll also have access to the latest leadership and management theory, as well as opportunities to apply content to sector-specific case studies in small group sessions. The program is supported by an online workbook and all participants will have access to an experienced mentor.
More than 90 per cent of graduates rated the program as highly related to content, methodology and impact on leadership behaviours and competence. One participant said: "Prior to this program, I struggled with knowing how to empower staff to support decisions and to provide feedback. I feel that this program provided me with the confidence to do so now, and I'm already seeing the impact of this in my work. My expectations were exceeded with this program. I was impressed by what I was able to take away from it."
