About this event:
For more than 10 years, the Youth Wellness Champions (YWC) program has helped organizations, schools and communities to implement peer-led youth mental health initiatives. The YWC Program helps develop peer “Champions”, using youth engagement approaches to foster core skills to promote mental health, decrease stigma and create inclusive and supportive school and community environments. This presentation will provide an overview of the program – including our recently-updated Youth Wellness Champion Toolkit which provides guidance for partners and youth interested in implementation. Participants will hear from the Northeastern Public Health and Kirkland Lake District Composite School to learn more about local implementation.
