Regions 9 & 10 Hybrid Nursing Week Event

We are delighted to announce that RNAO Region 9 and 10 are collaborating for a hybrid event taking place in Kingston, Ontario on May 9, 2023. While nurses care a lot and are the backbone of health care, our backs are in need of care and tenderness. We anticipate the event will connect nurses and empower them through that connection. We expect it will also help to support nurses' better mental health and wellbeing.

The event is called, "Our Nurses. Our Future” – Building Stronger Interdisciplinary Teams through Compassion, Collaboration and Communication

We will have two speakers who are instrumental advocates in nursing. Our first speaker is Dr. Karima Velji, who is currently the chief of nursing and professional practice and assistant deputy minister of health for the province of Ontario. She has held senior leadership positions in several Academic Health Science Centres and has operated a successful consulting company.

Our second speaker is Dr. Jane Philpott, who currently chairs the Ontario Health Data Council and was recently appointed as a commissioner to the Global Commission on Drug Policy. Dr. Philpott is also the dean of the faculty of health sciences, director of the school of medicine at Queen's University and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization.

After both presentations, we will have an engaging Q&A session where our two speakers can connect and our attendees can ask their questions.

All members and non-members are invited to attend this presentation on Tuesday, May 9 from 2 – 5 p.m. ET.
