A 2SLGBTQI+ Initiative: Creating a Safe and Inclusive Space for All

This webinar will discuss the creation and implementation of safe spaces in a long-term care setting for the 2SLGBTQI+ population. Through champion education and dedicated staff, it was possible for Rekai Centres, a long-term care centre, to create a diverse and inclusive space for all who live, work and visit. By attending this webinar, participants will from Rekai Centres' experience supporting the need for a 2SLGBTQI+ space.

The Rekai Centres strive to provide a safe space for older 2SLGBTQI+ persons to host and find their chosen family. The Rekai Centres’ mission is to empower our residents to live rich, purposeful lives. The 2SLGBTQI+ population deserve a place where they can be themselves without fear. By creating the first long-term care units dedicated to this population, the Rekai Centres welcomes this population and their allies to a place that they can call home.
