Dr. Claudette Holloway

Dr. Claudette Holloway was born in Barbados, grew up in Birmingham, England and has resided in Canada for many years. She has a bachelor’s degree from Ryerson, a master’s degree in nursing from D’Youville College, Buffalo, New York and a Doctorate in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is also recently certified as a Health Executive by the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
Prior to her Canadian experience, Holloway was a registered nurse, past midwife, and a member of the management team at East Birmingham Hospital in England, UK. In Canada, Holloway has more than 35 years of nursing experience, including 10 years of leadership as a program manager at Toronto Public Health, district administration for St. Elizabeth Visiting Nurses in Toronto, and nurse manager at the John Noble Homes for the Aged in Brantford, Ontario. She has also taught as a sessional instructor in undergraduate programs for the Ryerson University School of Nursing, York University, and the Centennial College Collaborative Program. Holloway is also the inaugural executive director for JCAN, a charitable philanthropic organization that supports seniors’ programs and housing.
Holloway is passionate about promoting the nursing profession, decreasing, and eliminating anti-Black racism and all forms of racism and discrimination in nursing and the health-care system, advancing health programs for the most vulnerable, and facilitating an equity lens approach to advance nursing and health care.
