Help make national pharmacare a reality

You can help bring historic change to Canada.

The federal government is considering the introduction of a national pharmacare program. This would be the most significant improvement to Canada’s health care in system in decades and would fill a huge gap in medicare.

A proper national pharmacare program would be a win-win-win for Canadians:

• It would improve health by ensuring that all Canadians can access necessary drugs at no cost.
• It would advance health equity and fairness.
• It would save money for all Canadians.

Canada is the only advanced country with universal health care that lacks pharmacare. RNAO has long-advocated for pharmacare, and now, we have the opportunity to make it happen.

In April, the federal all-party Standing Committee on Health recommended moving decisively on national pharmacare, and the federal Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare is currently conducting a national consultation that ends September 28, 2018.

RNAO made a submission to the consultation, and we are mobilizing members to take action on this important opportunity.

There are three things you can do:
