Recap of northern Ontario BPSO tour

From April 28 to May 1, RNAO staff members had the pleasure of visiting Best Practice Spotlight Organizations (BPSO®) in northern Ontario, including a handful of Indigenous-focused BPSOs. The goal of the Northern Ontario BPSO tour was to celebrate and support best practice guideline (BPG) implementation and champions training in local health and academic settings. BPSO site visits included Dryden Regional Health Centre BPSO, Anishnawbe Mushkiki BPSO, Ontario Native Women’s Association BPSO and Matawa Health Co-operative BPSO.

Additionally, two all day, in-person best practice champion workshops were hosted by St. Joseph’s Care Group, Thunder Bay BPSO and Confederation College BPSO – the first Indigenous-focused academic BPSO in northern Ontario. RNAO staff members also connected with two RNAO chapters local to Dryden and Thunder Bay. Collective identity and action were on full display by all BPSO leads, BPG teams, new champions and RNAO chapter members.
