The Implementation Specialist is a member of the IABPG Centre, whose role focuses specifically on RNAO’s Best Practice Guideline (BPG) Clinical Pathways Program. The goal of this Program is to promote technology-enabled evidence-based practice in Ontario’s long-term care (LTC) sector through the implementation of digitized versions of RNAO’s Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs) known as BPG Clinical Pathways. The primary function of the implementation specialist is to support the LTC homes that are participating in this Program. The role incorporates the application of implementation science which at RNAO includes two frameworks; knowledge to action and social movement action at the individual and organizational levels.

The Research Associate is a Registered Nurse who is an integral team member of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario’s (RNAO) Research Unit. The primary function of the Research Associate is to conduct research activities based on assigned projects and/or programs, as well as support operational planning and administration of the RNAO Research Unit. As part of this role, the incumbent will work with interprofessional and cross functional teams as well as work independently to support health outcome research at RNAO.

The Guideline Development Methodologist (GDM) is a Master’s prepared registered nurse responsible for leading the planning, research and execution of best practice guidelines (BPG). The GDM will support the work of an interprofessional expert panel by: conducting systematic reviews of the literature; developing evidence-based recommendation statements; writing the guideline, reports and manuscripts for peer-review; and prepare and present research for scientific meetings. The GDM works collaboratively with RNAOs Implementation Science and Evaluation/Monitoring Teams to support implementation, evaluation and sustainability of evidence-based practice cultures.
