Linda Patrick is professor emeritus and former dean of nursing at the University of Windsor. She was president of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) from 2021 to 2023. Her nursing career spans 50+ years, with 40 devoted to education. Her research, presentations and publications include women’s health, accessible education for internationally educated nurses (IEN) and workplace bullying. One of her graduate degrees specialized in post-secondary education curriculum design and evaluation. She is a contributing editor and author for a Canadian nursing fundamentals textbook and is among the creators of a provincially funded online bridging program for IENs. She is an accreditation reviewer for CASN, has reviewed nursing programs for provincial nurse regulatory bodies, and conducted quality assurance reviews at universities. Active in community work, she was appointed in 2022 to the Ontario West Patient and Family Advisory Council and the Health System Recovery and Transformation Table.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed on long-standing members of RNAO who exemplify outstanding contributions to the profession in the areas of practice, education, administration or research, at the provincial, national and/or international level. This includes activities that promote RNAO among nursing colleagues, the government and other health-care partners.
