The purpose of this Guideline is to present evidence-based recommendations that apply to the decisions and best practices of interprofessional teams working to assess and manage existing pressure injuries in people 18 years of age and above. This Best Practice Guideline (BPG) replaces the RNAO BPG Assessment and Management of Stage I to IV Pressure Ulcers (2007).

This guideline will provide direction to all nurses and the interprofessional team who provide care in all health-care settings to people (>15 years of age) with type 1 and/or type 2 diabetes and who have established diabetic foot ulcers.

The purpose of this best practice guideline is to provide evidence-based recommendations related to nurses and other health care professionals providing effective client centred learning.

This guideline will address the following areas:

  • How can nurses effectively facilitate client centred learning?
  • What are effective teaching delivery methods/ strategy for client centred learning?
  • How do nurses assess client learning?
    • This guideline will be applicable to all domains of nursing including clinical, administration, and education.

The purpose of this guideline is to provide information on implementing a treatment program of prompted voiding for older adults with urinary incontinence.

This guideline provides evidence-based recommendations for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) related to the care of individuals who are at risk for behaviours that may result in harm to self/others and lead to the possible use of restraints (physical, chemical, environmental). Unless otherwise indicated in the guideline, the discussion focus is on physical restraint.
