On Jan. 5, RNAO CEO Dr. Doris Grinspun and President Morgan Hoffarth sent an open letter to Premier Ford about Ontario’s health system being on the verge of collapse amid the fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. This letter follows up the Nov. 29 letter sent to the premier. 

The letter outlines two actions immediately required to avert the full collapse of the health system: 

1. Move Ontario back to Step One of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen.
2. Repeal Bill 124, top up compensation and improve working conditions for nurses so we retain those working and encourage the thousands who have left to return.
