During her time as a student in the broadcast journalism program at the University of Western Ontario/Fanshawe College, Victoria Mattan explored her personal doubts about organ donation, turning her research into a story that aired on the college’s radio station, 106.9 The X FM.

After probing the issue, she says she’s gained a deeper understanding of the importance and implications of giving the often-dubbed “gift of life.” Victoria is thrilled to have helped listeners better understand this topic. She says winning an RNAO Media Award has left her feeling truly honoured, and has heightened her ambition to continue reporting on health and health-care issues.

A recent graduate, Victoria is currently working as a reporter with CTV News in London.
