Veteran Sault Star reporter/editor Jeffrey Ougler arrived at the newspaper in September 1998 following two years reporting and editing at The Daily Press in Timmins, Ontario. Prior to that, he held positions at The New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal, Saint John Times-Globe and Bridgetown Monitor in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. He interned at the Moncton Times-Transcript. The Saint John, N.B., native is a graduate of both the University of New Brunswick and Holland College. He and his wife, Cindy, share their century-old home with a cat and dog. Time off is spent at the gym, hiking, cross-country skiing or hoisting a pint with friends at any one of the Sault’s great microbreweries.
