Olivia Bowden is a Toronto-based freelance journalist who primarily covers health, race and social justice. As an independent journalist, she currently writes for The Guardian and other local outlets. She also is a part-time producer at Global News. Previously, she worked for CBC News as a TV, web and radio reporter, along with the Toronto Star and CTV News. In 2021, she won an RNAO award for her reporting at Global News, which examined systemic discrimination in health care and the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black residents in Toronto.

Patrick Cain has been an online writer and editor in Toronto since 2001, at thestar.com, Open File, and Global News, where he was a national online reporter until August 2020. As well as traditional reporting techniques, he has experience in data journalism, access-to-information requests and maps and visualizations. As well, Patrick has spent time as a beat reporter covering digital privacy and cannabis. Along the way, Patrick has picked up some awards and started the ball rolling on an access-to-information case that ended in the Supreme Court.
