Expanding practice opportunities for IENs

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) call on the Ontario Ministry of Health and the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) to expand eligibility for the Supervised Practice Experience Partnership (SPEP) program to include internationally educated nurses (IEN) who have been out of nursing practice for more than five years but no more than eight years, and establish a standardized minimum of 240 hours of supervised practice across Ontario.
