Addressing intimate partner violence

Continuing Advocacy & Efforts to Address Growing Rates of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) advocate to municipal, provincial and federal governments for increased funding in order to promote public awareness and education about IPV, improve access to support services (e.g. safe and non-judgmental spaces   survivors, peoples experiencing IPV and people at-risk of experiencing IPV  can go for help, legal support and crisis lines), expand affordable long-term housing and accessible infrastructure for individuals facing IPV (e.g. emergency shelters) in collaboration with the Ontario Network of Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment and other affiliated organizations.
