Caroline Figueira Pereira, PhD, MSN, RN, Associate Professor, University of São Paulo – School of Nursing (EEUSP), Vice-Director, Commission for National and International Cooperation (CCNInt/EEUSP), President, Brazilian Chapter – International Nurses Society on Addictions (IntNSA)

Dr. Caroline Figueira Pereira is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing, University of São Paulo (EEUSP), in the Department of Maternal-Child and Psychiatric Nursing. She holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD in Nursing from the University of São Paulo, with research expertise in mental health, psychiatric nursing, interpersonal relations, and anxiety management. She completed part of her doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), where she developed a middle-range explanatory theory for anxiety management based on Peplau’s Interpersonal Relations Theory.

Her research program integrates evidence-based practice, innovation, and technology development, including the creation of RiMA, a technological intervention designed to support anxiety management in nurses. Dr. Pereira coordinates projects funded by FAPESP and CNPq, serves as vice-leader of the NEPEASM research group, and is core staff at the JBI Brazil Centre.

She actively promotes international collaboration, co-teaching and developing joint initiatives with faculty from the United States, Canada, Ireland, and Colombia. Recognized for her leadership in nursing education and global mental health, she received an international award from the IntNSA (2025) in recognition of her contributions to advancing addiction nursing in Brazil.
