Help stop changes to ODSP definition of disability

The government has proposed to make the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) definition of disability far more restrictive forcing thousands of Ontarians with disabilities onto the rolls of Ontario Works with a corresponding loss of critical income, benefits and supports. Here’s the story:

In November, the government announced its intention to more closely align the ODSP definition of disability with the far more restrictive federal (Canada Pension Plan) definition. Consultations on this matter are by invite only and taking place behind closed doors. RNAO was invited to and advised the Ministry (MCCSS) — in the strongest possible terms — of our view that the definition should remain unchanged.
