Call on Premier Wynne and Health Minister Hoskins to announce a public inquiry into the Wettlaufer case

RNAO and others are calling for a public inquiry into the murder of eight seniors and attempted murder of four others at several Ontario nursing homes over a seven year period.

In response to our Action Alert issued last week, Woodstock-Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman is now demanding answers and calling for a public inquiry on this tragic case.

Nurses across Ontario, Canada, and beyond share the outrage about this gross violation of the most sacred principle of our profession: the commitment entrusted in us to ensure the well-being of patients and their families. We need to get to the bottom of what happened, how it happened, and what we can learn from an organizational, regulatory, and system perspective to ensure nothing like this ever happens again. We want no stone left unturned in this effort.

Keep the momentum going by signing our Action Alert today calling on Premier Kathleen Wynne and Minister of Health Eric Hoskins to announce a public inquiry into the deaths of the eight residents who died at the hands of former nurse Elizabeth Wettlaufer.
