The Ontario Campus Health Nursing Association (OCHNA) became an official provincial RNAO interest group in 2015. The members of this group are part of a unique interdisciplinary team in which we play an integral role in providing a vast scope of care to our clients.

OCHNA was founded to represent the strong voice of registered nurses working within the post-secondary campus setting throughout Ontario. Together, we will work with the RNAO and our surrounding communities to discuss current campus health care trends, healthy community strategies and provide professional growth and development opportunities for our membership. We hope to be an integral section of the RNAO through our participation in the organization demonstrated by the development of our research, web hosting, and assist with policy development while sharing related health information across various post-secondary campuses throughout Ontario.

As a group, we plan to utilize social media to enhance our ability to share knowledge while promoting innovations and technology used in health care. OCHNA will be collaborating with established post-secondary associations such as the Ontario University and College Health Association (OUCHA) and the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) on common issues related to Campus Health trends, health promotion, as well as relevant policies and procedures while focusing on nursing perspectives.

OCHNA hopes to form collaborations with other RNAO Interest Groups to support relevant initiatives and enhance knowledge translation within our scope of practice.

The Executive Board will be decided upon a proposed annual voting process, the inaugural Executive Board will be filled on a voluntary basis.
