Caring for residents with vision loss: Reducing falls and increasing independence

RNAO’s Long-Term Care Best Practices Program and Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) held an informative webinar.

The presentation explored the impact of falls on long-term care (LTC) homes.

During this presentation, participant learned how to:

  • recognize the impact vision loss has on LTC residents
  • gain knowledge of the role of vision loss rehabilitation
  • provide strategies and resources to decrease number of falls
  • gain knowledge on improving quality of life, independence, and mobility for residents with vision loss
  • understand the link between RNAO best practice guideline recommendations and the work of Vision Loss rehabilitation Ontario
