VIANurse open to critical care nurses

With high daily COVID-19 cases and a high number of ICU admissions, RNAO activated VIANurse on April 14 to augment nursing human resource needs in critical care.

VIANurse calls on RNAO’s registered nurses (RN) and nurse practitioners (NP) with experience and competencies in critical care who are not currently working in these settings or who can increase their hours to please fill out our survey to indicate when they are available to work during the pandemic.

With the provincial government’s plan to expand ICU beds across the province, we are anticipating a need for additional RNs and NPs. RNAO has already received responses from 429 RNs and NPs and 27 hospitals have requests critical care RNs, NPs from VIANurse to augment their HR. Thank you to those who have already filled out our survey and are helping hospitals in need.

For more information, please see our survey. For questions, please contact Daniel Lau, director of membership & services at dlau@RNAO.ca.

Please note that VIANurse is only focused on critical care. For other staffing needs, nurses and employers should access RNCareers.ca, RNAO’s job board since 2005.
