Meadow Park Chatham recognized for improvement in quality care

Congratulations to Meadow Park Chatham, a long-term care best practice spotlight organization (BPSO), which was awarded the Quality Improvement Team of the Year award in September for its stellar work.

At the Biennial Global Ageing Conference in Toronto, the team was awarded for their work on falls including implementing RNAO’s best practice guidelines and creating a comprehensive Falls Management program.

As a BPSO pre-designate since 2018, Meadow Park has implemented the Preventing Falls and Reducing Injury from Falls BPG, along with six other guidelines. Residents at the home have benefited from a significant reduction in their falls rate. They are also no longer using restraints.

Earlier this year, Meadow Park Chatham was also awarded the Gold Quality Service Award and Customer Service Award by the Jarlette Health Services for their work on falls, pain and pressure injuries and providing superior care.

We are proud of Meadow Park Chatham and its team including Jessica Francis, BPSO liaison and co-director of care, and Anne Marie Rumble, RN and administrator.

Are you interested in joining the LTC BPSO program? Submit your letter of intent by Nov. 12, 2019 at 4 p.m. (EDT). For more information about the application process, please visit RNAO.ca/bpg/bpso/ltc
