Honouring nurses killed in WWI boat sinking

This month marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Llandhovery Castle, a Canadian hospital ship that was torpedoed on June 27, 1918 by a German U-boat during the First World War, taking hundreds of lives – including those of 14 nurses.

RNAO encourages you to listen to the CBC’s Sunday Edition or Canadian Nurse to learn more about Llandhovery Castle as well as the obstacles and challenges nurses faced during that time.
