Coming soon: Leading Change Toolkit

RNAO, in partnership with Healthcare Excellence Canada (HEC), invites you to attend its highly anticipated national launch and webinar for its new Leading Change Toolkit™ on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

The Leading Change Toolkit is a free, revolutionary online implementation resource that provides change agents – persons developing knowledge and skills to make a positive difference – and change teams with updated evidence, tools and strategies to facilitate sustainable change and social movement action in their health organization.

The toolkit features two complementary frameworks to support the uptake and sustainability of knowledge which, when combined, accelerates your success:

  • the Social Movement Action (SMA) Framework (Grinspun et al., 2020) - a new framework that integrates social movement action to create lasting change for improvement
  • the Knowledge-to-Action (KTA) Framework (Graham et al., 2006) - a dynamic systematic and structured process model that guides a change process through seven action cycle phases

Join RNAO and HEC for a 90-minute presentation that will cover the following:

  • why a new edition of the toolkit is needed
  • a review of the scholarly work to support the development of the new framework, the Social Movement Action Framework and an examination of the 16 elements that make up the framework
  • an overview of the Leading Change Toolkit website
  • the inclusion of pragmatic and valid tools to support the use of the action cycle phases of the KTA framework
  • a discussion of next steps - how RNAO will be preparing future champions to use the toolkit

Participants will also hear from guest speakers, including:

  • Dr. Jennifer Zelmer, President and CEO, HEC
  • Dr. Doris Grinspun, Leading Change Toolkit expert panel co-chair, RNAO CEO
  • Dr. Janet Squires, Leading Change Toolkit expert panel co-chair
  • members of the Leading Change Toolkit expert panel and development team

The Leading Change Toolkit replaces RNAO’s 2012 toolkit and is a comprehensive resource for RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organizations® (BPSO®), best practice champions, as well as other interprofessional health teams comprised of practitioners, persons/patients and their families, administrators, students, educators, and/or other staff or volunteers across health sectors and settings in Canada.
