Addressing substance use champions workshops: Registration now open

Beginning this summer, several workshops will be taking place across the province. Consider joining us for one or more of the free workshops below:

The Best Practice Addressing Substance Use Foundational (level 1) Champions Workshop provides an overview of introductory concepts related to providing safe, ethical and competent care to clients in all clinical settings who use substances. Participants will learn about understanding stigma, receive related knowledge on licit and illicit drugs that are used, and learn best practices related to screening, brief interventions and referral to treatment.

The Best Practice Addressing Substance Use Advanced (level 2) Champions Workshop is geared to participants who have already participated in previous RNAO Champions workshops focusing on mental health and addiction and/or specifically the Best Practice Addressing Substance Use Foundational (level 1) workshop. In this workshop, participants will gain a deeper understanding of advanced concepts related to substance use disorders, such as harm reduction and concurrent disorders.

To attend an upcoming workshop, please see the schedule available on our Champions Network page.

If you have any questions regarding any of these workshops, please contact Kyle Dieleman, Project Coordinator at kdieleman@RNAO.ca.
