Long-term care national standards must be tied to transfer payments: Sign action alert
Now that the federal government has committed to establishing national standards, RNAO wants you to lend your voice in support. RNAO is calling on the federal government to increase its health transfer payments to the provinces and ensure they are tied to support the development and delivery of national standards for LTC homes, and to base the national standards on RNAO’s Nursing Home Basic Care Guarantee.
RNAO responds to new visiting policies in LTC homes
RNAO applauds the Oct. 5 Ministry of Health directive ensuring that essential visitors designated by a long-term care (LTC) home resident and or their substitute decision-maker remain welcome in nursing homes in the wake of a second wave of COVID-19. This is the most humane approach and clearly benefits the resident, the caregiver and LTC staff.
