#RepealBill124: Action Alert and upcoming rally on Nov. 14
RNAO continues to urge Premier Ford to immediately repeal Bill 124.
Bill 124 caps compensation increases for a broad range of public sector workers, including nurses, at just one per cent. In real terms, that means nurses’ incomes are not keeping up with the cost of living. In fact, the real value of their take home pay/income is less.

Media statement on easing of COVID-19 restrictions
On Oct. 22, RNAO issued a statement in response to the Ontario government’s worrisome reopening plan.
RNAO says the government is throwing caution to the wind and putting at risk the progress the province has made in keeping the spread of the COVID-19 virus in check.

Nurses who are struggling with substance abuse and/or mental illness do not have to face this challenge alone.
The Nurses’ Health Program (NHP) is a voluntary program that encourages Ontario nurses to seek treatment for substance use and/or mental health disorders that may affect their ability to practise nursing safely.

Queen’s Park on the Road 2021 begins in November
RNAO’s annual Queen’s Park on the Road (QPOR) political action event kicks off in Nov. 8 and continues into the new year. This signature event provides RNAO members with an opportunity to meet virtually with members of provincial parliament from all political parties to discuss priority issues and advocate for healthy public policy.
It’s renewal time: Palliative Care Facilitated Access (PCFA) program
Calling all NPs! The Palliative Care Facilitated Access (PCFA) program allows eligible NPs to independently prescribe high-strength, long-acting opioids for those receiving palliative care services.
To make applying easier, RNAO will process applications to the program on behalf of members and non-members.

After three years of rigorous development, RNAO in partnership with Healthcare Excellence Canada (HEC) launched the Leading Change ToolkitTM during a national launch and webinar.
