Have you ever been asked to evaluate the implementation of a practice change and not sure where to start? If the answer is yes, then come to this one-day workshop designed for clinicians and practice leaders to understand how to evaluate evidence-based practice changes. This workshop will inspire health-care professionals involved in clinical projects and practice change activities to integrate principles of evaluation throughout the change process to demonstrate the value of their implementation. This workshop will provide you with the opportunity to develop and apply new knowledge and skills in evaluation to demonstrate the impact of evidence-based practice on health outcomes.

Session objectives:
Participants will:

  • Appreciate the importance of evaluation at all phases of implementation: pre-implementation, during implementation, post-implementation, and sustainability
  • Obtain a foundational understanding of performance measures :
    • Select and create relevant measures
    • Identify the link between the evidence (i.e. best practice guidelines) and performance measures
      • Conceptualize an evaluation plan
      • Understand the data lifecycle and create a data management plan
        • Explore current opportunities and challenges associated with evaluation
        • Gain an understanding of how to interpret, utilize and leverage your evaluation data to support practice change
        • Apply and interpret run chart rules to understand your data
