About this event:

This interactive session is designed for anyone who is interested in learning some strategies that can be used to enhance the sustainability of best practice guidelines (BPGs) to sustain new or existing guideline implementation.

In this session, we will examine the definition of sustainability and its importance. We will explore how to sustain a new knowledge or a practice change; a new policy that you have just rolled out; or a guideline initiative after 10 years of implementation. Sustainability of any new or existing knowledge or practice change is vitally important in order to achieve excellence in quality care of our clients. Without it, significant investments of human and financial resources will be wasted in the implementation. Furthermore, understanding how to sustain and incorporate this new form of knowledge into practice are critical components of BPG implementation.

During this interactive presentation, participants will:

  • gain a better understanding of what sustainability is and its importance
  • identify practical strategies to sustain a new or existing BPG implementation
