About this Event:

Motivational interviewing is a directive, client-centred counselling style for eliciting behaviour change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence. This approach can be used in various practice settings and with a wide range of clients. Clients may include those with chronic health issues that require behaviour or lifestyle changes, or those experiencing substance use disorders.

This workshop focuses on the transtheoretical model of change and the evidence-base for motivational interviewing. It will provide you with the knowledge and the opportunity to practise skills to facilitate the integration of this effective approach into your daily clinical practice.
