About this Event:

This presentation will provide an overview of the process followed by St. Joseph’s Care Group in Thunder Bay to implement recommendations from RNAO’s Engaging Clients who Use Substances best practice guideline (BPG).

A pilot project was developed to identify, screen and assess clients who use substances using the CAGE-AID and GAIN-SS tool. Clients who are engaging in substances are referred to internal resources who have clinical expertise in addictions.

During this presentation, participants will learn how to:

  • use a gap analysis tool to identify/confirm current practice gaps
  • use recommendations within a BPG to support processes that address client and staff needs
  • develop and manage a plan for best practice champion and stakeholder engagement
  • use a BPG to guide the development of a new clinical pathway
