About this event:

The current climate within health care has shifted significantly over the past two decades, resulting in a surge of acuity and complexity among patient populations. Such circumstances have demanded that both registered nurses (RN) and registered practical nurses (RPN) practise collaboratively to deliver quality patient care. In fact, according to RNAO (2016), intraprofessional collaborative practice among nurses is a critical component of healthy work environments (HWE) and improved patient outcomes. Hence, nurse leaders and educators should prioritize intraprofessional collaboration among RNs and RPNs by promoting patient care protocols, role clarity, and mentorship efforts.

This webinar will allow participants to understand the value of intraprofessional collaboration in the context of healthy work environments and patient safety. This workshop will provide participants with the skills to disseminate knowledge, manage resistance to change, and develop materials to support intraprofessional collaboration.

During this presentation, participants will learn:

  • gain a better understanding of intraprofessional collaboration and its implications
  • design role clarity documents as well as a mentorship initiative at the unit level
  • understand and manage resistance to change
