Electing a new federal government: A platform for a healthy Canada

Oct 17, 2019, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
About this Event:

The federal election takes place on Oct. 21, 2019. Elections matter, especially when it comes to the health of Canadians. Health isn’t just about health care. Our economic and social circumstances affect our health. The environment also affects our health. These are important issues at stake in the election. The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) is asking you to vote for your health.

This webinar will present RNAO's federal election platform and provide information on how to organize candidate debates in your region for future elections. In addition, participants will get access on how to navigate the Elections Canada’s website in order to find their riding, candidates, and information on when and where to vote.

Session objectives:

  • consistent with other efforts (eg. “Nurses Vote” wordmark) to push out the vote of our membership
  • occurs during the week between advance polls and election day in an effort to reach those who have not voted, who remain undecided and, consequently, may not vote
  • highlight RNAOs federal election platform for the purpose of demonstrating the implications of the election for matters close to the interests of our membership.
  • provide information on how and where to vote by navigating Elections Canada’s website
