For this winning entry, CBC Radio's The Current examines the state of end-of-life care in Canada. Anna Maria Tremonti is the host of CBC Radio's flagship network morning news program, and has worked as a senior reporter for CBC’s The National, host of The Fifth Estate, and chief CBC correspondent in the Middle East. She has worked across Canada covering provincial and federal politics, and spent nine years as a foreign correspondent for CBC, based in Berlin, London, Jerusalem and Washington. As host of The Current, she seeks out diverse guests for conversations designed to offer insight and context to events and issues at home and abroad. Liz Hoath has worked at CBC Radio for more than 20 years, with stints in Whitehorse, Inuvik, Prince George and now Vancouver. She has tried almost every job in radio, from hosting to reporting to producing, even filling in on Native language shows when needed up north. She is currently a producer on The Current.
