URGENT Action Alert to Premier McGuinty: ENABLE RNs & NPs to OPEN ACCESS for ONTARIANS
ALMOST 600 nurses, NPs and nursing students from across the province have already written to Premier McGuinty urging him to remove the barriers to RNs' and NPs' practice, improve access to health services and reduce wait times.
This week public hearings concluded on Bill 179, the proposed legislation that aims to enhance patient and client safety by expanding the scope of practice of health professionals within their education, knowledge and competencies.
NOW, the Legislature will consider amendments to Bill 179. That's why we need your URGENT help once again!
If you have already written the Premier, thank you and please do so again. And, if you have not written, please do so right away. WE NEED EACH NURSE, EACH NP AND EACH NURSING STUDENT TO WRITE BY WEDNESDAY October 14th - EVERY LETTER MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE - particularly with the appointment of Deb Matthews as our new Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. What better way to welcome our new Minister than with hundreds of nurses speaking with one strong voice to better client safety and reduced wait times.

Feel free to add your insights about the work RNs and NPs do every day to improve access and reduce wait times.
